VIRGINIA BEACH

A police officer jumped from a house's second-story window Thursday night to catch a man suspected of robbing it.

About 10:45 p.m., officers responded to the 4600 block of Glanmire Drive in Indian Lakes, where several people said three armed men wearing stockings over their faces had kicked in the front door, said Officer Grazia Moyers, a police spokeswoman. The men then demanded money and tried to flee, Moyers said.

But when officers arrived, witnesses ran outside and said one of the men was still in the house. Police went upstairs, where one of the officers saw a man jump out the window, Moyers said.

The officer jumped after him, Moyers said, catching and arresting him.

Police said they are not releasing the man's name because they are still looking for two other suspects and believe they might be tied to additional incidents.

No one was reported injured.
