LONDON—Blackstone Group has bought U.K. hotel group Mint for about $950 million, expanding the U.S. private-equity group's hotel portfolio.

Blackstone, which owns the Hilton Worldwide chain of hotels, will take over Mint's eight four-star hotels, consisting of seven in the U.K. and one in Amsterdam, Mint said in a statement.
