A teenage gang member has been convicted for first-degree murder for the shooting death of a 16-year-old honor student after a Southern California homecoming game.

The Long Beach Press-Telegram (http://bit.ly/ncW2lC) says jurors deliberated two days before finding 18-year-old Tom Love Vinson guilty on Monday for the Oct. 30, 2009, killing of Melody Ross.

Vinson was also found guilty of two counts of attempted murder for wounding rival gang members, who survived, as well as attempted voluntary manslaughter of a teen girl.

He faces more than 155 years in prison when he's sentenced Oct. 25.

Vinson testified that he opened fire after a gang rival pointed a gun at him as hundreds of people streamed out of the Long Beach Wilson High School campus.
