VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- A Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. subsidiary has received a support services contract worth up to about $22 million from the Navy, the ship builder said Tuesday.

AMSEC LLC will perform functions related to integrated logistics support for hull, mechanical and electrical technical data development, maintenance and management services.

Work under the pact, which has two one-year options, will be performed mostly at AMSEC's Newport News, Va., location and at work sites in Philadelphia; San Diego; Mayport, Fla.; Everett, Wash. and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

The work is expected to be completed by September 2014, assuming all options are given to the company.

Huntington Ingalls, which was spun off from defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corp. ( NOC - news - people ) earlier this year, is based in Newport News.

The company's shares fell 69 cents, or 2.4 percent, to $27.59 in afternoon trading. The stock has traded in a 52-week range of $26.39 to $42.74.
