NEW YORK - In a first-time partnership, Meyer Jabara Hotels and Choice Hotels International Inc. unveiled plans to build a 130-room Cambria Suites in downtown White Plains, N.Y.

Meyer Jabara owns and operates more than 20 hotels in 13 states. Meyer Jabara gets management rights for the new hotel, part of a $47 million mixed-use development at 250 Main St.

The mixed-use development boasts 30,000 square feet of retail and 17,000 square feet of retain and office space. The retail construction is underway. Ground will break on a six-story hotel in March 2012, with a grand opening planned for September 2013. Complemented by underground parking, the hotel will sit on top of two stories of retail shops.

The White Plains hotel will feature a casual dining restaurant, barista bar, fitness center, pool and hot tub/spa and 24/7 convenience store. To date, there are 19 Cambria Suites open in the U.S., with numerous locations under development.
