DELTONA -- If there's one aspect of the game that New Smyrna Beach can thank for tonight's District 9-6A win at Pine Ridge it's special teams.

Deon Washington returned a kickoff 50 yards to set up the tying score and D'Cota Dixon returned a punt 27 yards to set up the go-ahead as the Barracudas rallied for a 14-7 victory at Pine Ridge Stadium.

"I think special teams definitely turned the field position tide our way," NSB coach Lance Jenkins said. "We didn't have any drives but the special teams definitely helped us out."

The game was moved from NSB Sports Complex Stadium Friday night, due to unplayable field conditions, to Pine Ridge Stadium tonight.

After an 0-2 start NSB improves to 1-2, 1-0 in District 9-6A play, heading into a bye week while the Panthers (2-2, 0-1), who travel to Warner next Friday, had their two-game winning streak snapped.
