Officers in Boynton Beach police cruiser crash identified - WPTV
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - The Boynton Beach Police Department has identified the three officers injured after crashing into a concrete pole while assisting in the pursuit of three burglary suspects.
Officer Rachel Loy was driving, Officer George Baldino was in the front seat and Officer Clayton Harris was behind them.
The pole fell on their police cruiser and they had to be rescued from the wreckage.
According to the department, both Loy and Baldino remain hospitalized. Harris is out of the hospital.
Their conditions were not released.
In June 2007 Loy received a written reprimand for a crash. Then in November of that year received a one-day suspension for her second preventable crash within six months.
Two people, 17-year-old Michael Hollis and 18-year-old Cheado Ceance, were arrested in connection with the burglary.
Police are still looking for suspect Markell Renord Hollis, 22. They say he also goes by the name of 'Shaka.'
The suspects face a number of charges including armed burglary.
The homeowner who reported the burglary said shotguns and .22 caliber rifles were stolen, as well as ammunition.
