CREDIT CARD FRAUD
Fradulent charges — Police received a report Monday from a resident in the 300 block of North Woods Road of credit card fraud. She told police she had various fraudulent charges on her credit card and credit card statements to her address in someone else's name.
ARRESTS
Stolen vehicle — Police arrested a 34-year-old Palm Beach Gardens man Monday on a charge of motor vehicle theft. He told police it was a rental and that he had made a payment for using it. The Broward County Sheriff's Office confirmed it was stolen, and police took him to jail.

Warrants — A 21-year-old Palm Springs man wound up in jail Tuesday after police found him and two companions at Phipps Ocean Park Tuesday after hours. Police found he was wanted on three warrants and took him to jail.

Misdemeanor drug arrest — Police conducted one arrest on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
FIRE-RESCUE
Firefighters responded to a call just before noon Monday at 2778 S. Ocean Blvd. and were told construction dust set off a fire alarm. Fire-Rescue went to the fourth floor and noticed smoke in the hallway.
A contractor in one of the units said a plumber was sweating a bathroom pipe and some insulation had caught fire, and that they had put it out.
Firefighters were not satisfied and checked, finding another fire nearby in the wall insulation and wooden wall stud. They ripped out all of the sheet rock on the bathroom walls and ceiling, extinguished the fire and ventilated the apartment and hallway.

Fire-Rescue had a total of 24 fire incident calls from Sept. 8-15, including 6 malfunctioning alarm systems, 2 cases of arching or shorted out electrical equipment and 3 unintentional smoke detector activations with no fires. They also responded to 21 medical calls, including 3 breathing problems, 1 choking, 1 diabetic problem, 10 fall victims, 1 heat/cold exposure, 3 sick calls, 1 stroke and 1 person down.
Ocean Rescue reported attendance at 3,989 at the town's two public beaches from Sept.7-Sept. 15. Lifeguards administered 1 major first aid, 19 minor first aids, 32 code enforcements and 21 preventive lifesaving actions.
