BREMERTON — With standing water on the fairways and greens at Gold Mountain Golf Course, the first two rounds of the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational were canceled Monday.

The tournament has been shortened to 18 holes on Tuesday. Only six teams — Washington, Washington State, Pepperdine, Gonzaga, Fresno State and Santa Clara — will play.

The other 10 teams will withdraw and be eligible to add a two-day tournament to their schedule this season.

For the Huskies, the tournament is the opener in what is expected to be a stellar season. Washington's five-man lineup consists of no seniors and is led by recent Walker Cup member Chris Williams.

Golf

Nick Frost of Dixie State shot an opening-round, 1-under-par 70 to lead the 15-team Saint Martin's Invitational at Olympia Country and Golf Club. Jake Webb and Mark Strickland paced Western Washington with 73s, while Saint Martin's Zach Dietz, Brandon Moore and Patrick Whealdon shot 74s.

• At Litchfield Park, Ariz., Western Washington's Claire Rachor is tied for fifth and the Vikings are fourth in a field of 16 teams after the first round of the Grand Canyon University Invitational.

• Paced by Rob Seibly's 3-under 139, the Seattle University men's team is tied for eighth at the Dash Thomas Memorial, hosted by Boise State.

• At 3-over par, Seattle U's Caitlin McCleary is in second place after two rounds of the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Ore. Shannon Quinn of Shoreline is tied for third.

Soccer

• Seattle Pacific senior Tyler Schultz, with four goals and an assist in a pair of road victories, is the GNAC men's soccer player of the week.

• Northwest University forward Acacia Johnson of Puyallup is offensive player of the week for the Cascade Conference. Johnson leads her team with four goals and two assists.

Cross country

• Bellevue's Natty Plunkett, who led Div. II competitors at the Erik Anderson/Runner's Soul NCAA pre-regional meet on Saturday, is the GNAC women's cross country athlete of the week.
