The travel industry will soon have a new domain in which to conduct business following the announcement by Sabre Travel Network that it would be launching the world's first B2B application store for travel professionals.

According to the global technology company, the Sabre Red App Centre will be the first online marketplace to connect buyers, agencies and operators with third party developers, and will be available in the coming months.

Sabre Travel Network president Greg Webb said the initiative would "open up a new world of possibilities for the travel industry and bring endless opportunities for creative and original applications to be brought to the market quickly".

"Our agency customers will be able to improve their business and deliver enhanced services for travelers by tapping into the collective creativity of Red App developers from all over the world," Mr Webb remarked.

Connecting to the Sabre Red Workspace, the Red App Centre will allow travel buyers to shop for applications that best meet their needs "then quickly deploy those applications down to the individual user".

"Creating an online B2B marketplace will spur a whole new level of innovation for the benefit of Sabre connected agencies globally," the Sabre boss said.
