(AP)  WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Three survivors of a 2009 Thanksgiving rampage are filing a lawsuit against the parents of the accused shooter.

The complaint expected to be filed Thursday claims Michael and Carole Merhige (MEHR'-ihj) knew their son Paul would show up uninvited at the holiday celebration and feared he might become violent.

According to the lawsuit, his mother told her daughter she hoped he wouldn't "come and kill us all" in advance of Thanksgiving.

The lawsuit is being filed by Muriel and Jim Sitton, whose 6-year-old daughter was killed, and Antoine Joseph, whose wife was killed.

Paul Merhige is awaiting trial in the deaths but has pleaded not guilty. It's not known yet if his parents, whose two daughters were also killed, have obtained an attorney.
