Sunday Beach Report: Clouds and Choppy Surf - Patch.com
The morning on Sunday isn't so pretty as it was on Saturday.
On the beach at Second Street, the sky is overcast and a steady south wind is keeping things cool. The crosswind is also spoiling the good surf we've seen all week.
The official forecast calls for a "partly sunny" day with a high near 81 degrees, so maybe things will turn for the better.
The ocean water temperature on Sunday morning is 73 degrees. High tide is at 1:25 p.m.
Surf: A choppy south windswell doesn't hold much promise for surfers on Sunday. There are some two- to three-foot waves in the mix, so it might be worth a look, if you're bored. Swell from Hurricane Katia could show up as early as late Monday -- there are better things to come.
Traffic: Looks as if the island is jammed for the holiday weekend, but there are no issues this morning.
