Discount travel website Hotwire.com has released its rankings of best travel deals and Tucson features prominently.

The Hotwire.com 2011 Travel Savings Indicator ranks destinations based on three categories: hotel, airfare and car rental price drops.

Tucson ranked No. 1 on the list of airfare price declines, with prices falling 8 percent from 2010. The average Hotwire airfare to Tucson was $285, according to the ranking.

The city also was No. 5 on the list of largest drop in car rental prices, falling 42 percent to $23 per day.

The Old Pueblo did not make the top five list for dips in hotel prices.

1. Rochester, N.Y.; - 13 percent; $81 (night)

2. Williamsburg, Va.; - 8 percent; $70

3. Branson, Mo.; - 6 percent; $62

4. Napa County, Calif.; - 5 percent; $119

5. Santa Fe, N.M.; - 5 percent; $130

Airfare market:

1. Tucson; -8 percent; $285 (average)

2. Burbank, Calif.; -4 percent; $316

3. Kailua, Hawaii; -4 percent; $549

4. Oakland, Calif.; -4 percent; $304

5. Vancouver, B.C.; -3 percent; $414

Car rentals:

1. Honolulu, Hawaii; -53 percent; $26 (day)

2. Washington, D.C.; -53 percent; $31

3. Las Vegas, Nev.; -52 percent; $25

4. Arlington, Va.; -49 percent; $26

5. Tucson; -42 percent; $23
