Window Shopping

Another part that I enjoyed in Paris is window shopping. I especially enjoyed window shopping along Rue St Honore' at night. It is just fabulous. You feel like all these beautiful window-shops belong to you and they do this just for you only...Love it!

Giuseppe Zanotti. Miu Miu.
Max Chaoul Couture.
Gucci.
Lanvin's window shop is my favorite. They always have the best display. It's more fun and artistic.

Window shopping at Buddha Bar.

Chanel.

Window shopping at Balenciaga. Please come back here for the next post to see my awesome Balenciaga goody.Window shopping at a book store on the Rue de Rivoli.

My hubby actually bought this book for me the next day for my birthday gift. My goodies from Chanel. In this picture, it doesn't show that it has a lace clutch attached to the back of this mini bag. It's cute!

Maison de la Truffe

I had already mentioned about this restaurant, Maison de la Truffe, in the past post, a long time ago. But I'd like to do a post about it again. Because we love this restaurant and especially we love truffle. We accidentally knew about this restaurant by watching the show called Bizarre Foods on Travel channel. Maison de la Truffe is located in the prestigious, Place de la Madeleine, Paris. It has become a real gourmet institution and offers high quality truffles that are priced surprisingly fair, less expensive than in the US, at least in Dallas. If you like truffle, this is a place to go.
Scallop Carpaccio with lemon-flavored, black truffles. Chef's suggestions.
Shrimp green salad with white truffles.
Risotto with black truffles. My husband favorite dish. Black truffle-flavored cream brulee. It's exotic!
Warm chocolate cake with truffle-ice-cream.
Another fun thing to do that we enjoyed in the Paris trip is tasting wine at Lavinia, located at 3 boulevard de la Madeleine, near the Maison de la Truffe. This is a machine that you serve yourself wine by inserting a card which you buy at the cashier. This is a fun way to taste wine. Unfortunately, it's illegal in the US, at least in Dallas, to serve yourself wine in public.
Aha...My husband tried to taste the Chateau Latour from Bordeaux.
When I saw Barbara Martelo wearing a spring fur coat from Isabel Marant in Jakandjil blog. I said "What an awesome fur coat! I wish to have it!" When I visited Isabel Marant boutique in Paris, I saw the coat and it's just so stunning in person. I was surprised it's not pricey for a fur coat (about the same price with a great pair of Gucci shoes). I have to say Isabel Marant clothing is very fairly priced compared with other designers.
In my shoe collection, these old Marni heels and Rick Owens wedges are the most comfy to walk in for hours. But I always have flats for back-up. The Rick Owens wedges are an exception, they're super comfy 100% like flats.
Thank you everyone for your comments!! Wishing you all a wonderful day!!

Big hugs...Hanh ;-)

My Vacation in Milan

The first days of April I passed in Milan and Lugano. I continue to describe these days in my new travel blog, and the first post about it was written on April, 14, Great People of Milan. I would like to see you in this blog and to give me maybe some advices because the paid hosting is something completely new for me. Maybe you know interesting plug-ins to add or you know why some of plug-ins do not work there (Feedjit).

Well, general impression? It was GREAT both: infinite busy emperor style city (I was only there, the sessions of the ritrit finished too late to make tourist trips) and the wonderful places round Lugano. Because I lived till 35 in the cities, their frenetic life is my nature. But the Nature and much-much water attracts me irresistible and I feel in Paradise when I visit that place.

So, I invite you to visit my new blog and enjoy photos I made there.

Milano, Italy

The Sky Lounge Of Grand Paragon Hotel, Johor Bahru

The Sky Lounge is situated on 26th Floor of Grand Paragon Hotel, Century Garden - Johor Bahru. The company I attached with was held the Annual Dinner in the lounge on January 2010. That gave me a chance to explore the Highest Lounge in Johor Bahru for the moment!

The entrance of Sky Lounge, Grand Paragon Hotel

The dinner started about 7pm on that day, before that...some of my colleagues already enjoy their ice cold beer in the lounge. Alcohol is serve mostly for the local or foreign company when they celebrates their Annual Dinner. Even the Wine and Liquor were serve in the house, but I'm only enjoyed the Tiger Cold Beer...:)

The beer serve in 'Tower', during the 'Happy Hour', the charges is MYR108.00 and MYR128 after 'Happy Hour'.

And the foods served on that night was pretty delicious, they had Local food, Japanese food and International food...

The foods for the night :-

The local food and fruits

I Love the Japan Sashimi on the left!

I had this Roast Lamb a lot! My favorite! :)

There were Only 3 Lovely Ladies (waitress) serve the party in such a big Lounge on the Top of the Hotel...They did it well!

The Lovely waitress of Sky Lounge

Beside the foods and drinks, there was a Nice Red Piano display on the left of the stage. The performer play some nice song during the performance...

The RED Piano in the lounge

Another advantage of the lounge is...you can take the Johor Bahru city photo from the open air balcony! Because of the height of the Hotel, the vision is from Johor bahru City till Singapore. That was nice! I will share in my next post.

As usual, our colleagues and guests arrived about 8pm. Everyone were enjoy their food very much! Following with performer on the stage and lastly...the lucky draw. The First price was a 32" Sharp LCD TV! But I didn't get it...:)

I was attracted by the lighting in the lounge while others were busy with their foods....

There was a Cigar Bar at the right side of the lounge, if you are cigar lover, you will definitely love the environment!

Overall, we were satisfied with the services provided and also the foods. The dinner party end about 12 midnight and left some colleagues and guests chit-chatting until 3am in the morning! (I'm one of them...)

I'll be back again, not for the alcohol but for the spectacular night view of Johor Bahru!

Grand Paragon Hotel at Century Garden, Johor Bahru

Grand Paragon Hotel 4* (N1 28.867 E103 45.700) is one of the famous hotel at Johor Bahru at the moment. It's located at the junction of Jalan Harimau and Jalan Seladang of Century Garden (Taman Abad), Johor Bahru.

We stayed here for one night on the day our company having the Annual Dinner at the Sky Lounge (26th Floor) of Grand Paragon Hotel. The room rate we had was a special discount! I only paid MYR160.00 for a room with 2 Queen bed. That was really reasonable because the published rate on their website is MYR230.00 for Standard room and MYR250.00 for Deluxe room.

The 2 Queen Bed room was spacious and so do the bathroom!

The bathroom of the room at Grand Paragon Hotel, JB.

We checked-in about 1pm, and have plenty of time to explore around the hotel area....

The main entrance. The staircase at the end is towards the Japanese Restaurant at M Floor.

The lobby area is spacious!

You will fall asleep if you relax on the sofa, because the Air-Conditional was cold...

Nice Lightning!

Japanese Restaurant at M Floor

After the Ground and M Floor, we continue to 11th Floor, the swimming pool...

The swimming pool of Grand Paragon Hotel

The swimming pool is kind of special which located outdoor and in the shape of half circle. It's not the Olympics size but it's comfort enough...

I woke up late in the next morning and I missed the breakfast! But my wife and my daughter were enjoyed the delicious breakfast very much!
Overall, we are satisfied with the 4 stars Hotel and the staffs are very friendly! It's worth to have a comfort stay at Grand Paragon Hotel, Johor Bahru.

Around Paris, France

Paris is a city of lights, arts, fashion, architecture, history, design, shopping, partying, fine cuisine and luxury. Paris is the utmost definition of chic. There are so many things to do in Paris that even the most sophisticated and informed Parisian still discovers hidden treasures of this city day after day. I've never tired of Paris. In fact, I can't wait to go back with my kids this August to show them how wonderful Paris is. Excited!! Anyway, when we talk about Paris, we'll talk about visiting the Eiffel tower, Place Vendome, Le Concorde, Tuleries garden, Louvre museum and the Pompidou modern art museum. Shopping along the Rue St Honore' is absolutely fabulous, even just window shopping is just great. The neighborhood of St-Germain des Pres is charming. Notre-Dame cathedral is marvelously stunning. Just walking around Paris with your partner is already joyful and romantic. Every corner, you turn your head around to see beauty of the city. Oh, don't forget to take a boat cruise to see the city from the Seine river. It's just awesome!!

Eiffel Tower seen from the Seine
My favorite bridge in Paris.
Do you see people seated in the right side of this picture? In fact, there are many people sitting along the Seine to get some sun with bikini on. They don't need to go to the beach.
Notre-Dame seen from Seine river.
Louvre.

Fountain across Le Concorde.

Place Vendome at night.
Rue de Rivoli.
To me, every cathedral here is beautiful. Walking around Paris at night is a fun thing to do. We actually love to take a walk at night, every time we're in this city. You feel like Paris belongs to you. It's just wonderful. You can't ask for a more romantic setting than this when you're walking with your loved one, hand in hand, around the Seine river, under Paris lights with the moon in April. It's truly magical!
Notre-Dame at night.
Street performers in front of Notre-Dame were very entertaining.
I have a crush on this classic, well-dressed French guy in the right side of this picture below. Oh!...wait a minute! He's actually my lovely husband...hehe...
Me, wearing my new Rick Owens top and Lanvin lucite sunglasses. Yes, I had flats with me for back-up.
Thank you everyone for your continuing support!!
Wish you all a wonderful day!!
Kisses...Hanh ;-)
