WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Sep 01, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Westin Hotels & Resorts /quotes/zigman/410958/quotes/nls/hot HOT +2.01% is encouraging consumers to take home a little piece of Heaven before the end of summer with the launch of a sale set to run in North America and Europe in honor of the 12th anniversary of the iconic Heavenly Bed. Tomorrow, Westin kicks off the sale on all of its luxurious retail items, including the sumptuous 10-layer Heavenly Bed and signature White Tea home fragrance collection. All sale items are available on Westin's online store, Facebook store and at Nordstrom stores nationwide. Since the Heavenly Bed's introduction in 2000, more than 75 million guests have tucked themselves in at Westin hotels around the world, and more than 35,000 beds and 100,000 pillows have been sold.
From September 2 -- September 15, customers who visit www.westin.com/store will enjoy 20% off every item in the Westin retail line, including the legendary Heavenly Bed; White Tea candles, oil diffusers and potpourri; Brazilian combed cotton towels and bath sheets; and a variety of bathroom fixtures. Shoppers can also pick up such coveted items from the Heavenly retail line, including the Heavenly Spa Robe and Heavenly Travel Blanket. Westin's pet-friendly amenities, like the Heavenly Dog Bed, offer four-legged friends Heavenly comforts at 20% off, too.
"The annual Heavenly Sale is our way to thank our customers while celebrating this anniversary milestone," says Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader for Westin Hotels & Resorts. "All of our Heavenly products support our brand mission of aiding in the well-being of our customers and we are thrilled at how much demand there is to take our hotel experience home."
Modeled after a brick-and-mortar store, Westin's online shop and newly-launched Facebook store are designed to provide a personalized experience with features like an Interactive Retail Concierge to assist with purchases, tips on making the Heavenly Bed, product suggestions based on recent purchases, and easy one-stop shopping. Visitors can purchase the 10-layer Heavenly Bed - including box spring, 13-inch pillow-top mattress, sheets, blankets, and a variety of pillows - with just one click.
Twelve years ago, Westin Hotels & Resorts spent more than $30 million to create the perfect night's sleep and introduced 52,000 new Heavenly beds in its 39,500 guest rooms, becoming the first hotel brand to take sleep seriously. The Heavenly Bed became such a phenomenon that Westin changed the industry once again as it jump-started the hotel-retail movement so guests could purchase Heaven for their home.
