Catherine Beach Lagassa and Michael Carlin Silver were married Saturday at Abenaqui Country Club in Rye Beach, N.H. Judge Cynthia M. Rufe of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, whose chambers are in Philadelphia, performed the ceremony.
The bride, 27, and the bridegroom, 26, met at Northwestern University, from which they graduated.
Mrs. Silver, who is known as Beach, is an administrative assistant for the leukemia program at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.
She is a daughter of Parthenia Powell Lagassa and George K. Lagassa of North Hampton, N.H. The bride's father works as a consultant for Mainstream Associates, an electric utility appraisal firm in North Hampton. Her mother is a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Portsmouth, N.H.
The bridegroom is an associate in the litigation department of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, the New York law firm. He received a law degree from Duke.
He is a son of Martha Sperling and Charles Stephen Silver of New Hope, Pa. The bridegroom's mother is of counsel for Eastburn & Gray, a law firm in Doylestown, Pa. His father, also a lawyer, retired from a practice in Doylestown that he had with his wife.
