Marriott International Inc. on Monday will appoint a new head of its operations in the Middle East and Africa, Marriott executives said, capping off a corporate reorganization that emphasizes hotel growth outside of the U.S.

In January, Alex Kyriakidis, 58 years old, will become president and managing director of the company's Middle East and Africa division, the executives said. Mr. Kyriakidis, who will be based in Dubai, is presently global managing director for tourism, hospitality and leisure at Deloitte LLP.
