Three hotel robberies in three weeks, now police are looking for the man behind the thefts.

Police say the man has developed a bit of a gimmick where he tricks the front desk attendant to steal cash and it keeps working for him.

His last theft caught him on camera and police want you to take a closer look.

On September 27th inside the Ramada Inn on North Broadway in Lexington, a man caused the hotel lobby to overflow. Police say the man then approached the front desk attendant, telling him about the mess he accidentally caused to the bathroom.

When the employee checks on the problem, the man takes advantage, getting behind the lobby desk and digging into the cash box.

Turns out, this Ramada employee isn't the only one who has fallen for the trick. Police say the man pulled the exact same stunt at two Marriott Hotels in town as well. The day before, he robbed the Marriott Hotel on Pleasant Ridge Drive off Man O' War and a week before that he robbed the Marriott Springhill Suites on South Broadway.

Police have shared surveillance photos of the most recent theft, not only providing a good image of the suspect but also of his vehicle: A red, older model Honda Civic.

Now that the suspect has successfully robbed a series of area hotels, police are urgently warning the other hotels to be on the looking and to be skeptical of the next toilet complaint.
