Wednesday Beach Report: Another Perfect Day - Patch.com

There's really not much more you can ask for in a beach day.

On Wednesday morning on the beach at North Street, there's not a cloud in bright blue sky -- nor is there a breath of humidity. The air has a bit of a September chill to it in the morning and we're headed for a high temperature of a perfect 80 degrees.

The ocean water is crystal clear, calm and 72 degrees. Pods of dolphins are swimming close to shore. And there are even some nice little waves to keep everybody entertained.

A light north wind is keeping airborne pests at bay. There's nothing to get in the way of soaking up one of the last beach days of summer.

Surf: The ocean is glassy calm in between sets of chest-high waves rolling in on Wednesday morning. A great week of waves continues to diminish slowly, but they're hanging on for another day. Off on the horizon, Tropical Storm Katia is predicted to take an offshore track that could bring a new round of waves next week. High tide is at 9:38 a.m., and low tide is at 3:52 p.m.

Traffic: No issues this morning.
