Alternatives To International Calling Cards

When having to call internationally, a major worry is how much will it cost and in most cases it can affect the duration of calls. With the speed of which technology is being developed and how much the cost of manufacturing has reduced explains why everyone has one or wants one. With such wide appeal and ownership, it's still surprising to find that the services available have not really kept up or offer consumers real value for money.
Currently service providers are catching up and realizing that there is a demand for international calling, with contracts that can provide better tariffs that cater to calling abroad and helping save money long term. But with people going on holiday, business trips and talking to relatives these are only ever carried out several times a year, therefore for most people this choice is not the best.
International calling cards are great, but the time required to select card necessary can be time consuming for some, especially with the amount of companies offering cards. Also, prepaid cards will run out once the amount of credit has been consumed. For some people buying a preset amount, for example having Š5 on their card will help limit their spending.
Another option that exists is the service that enables you to make cheap international calls anywhere in the UK, whether it be from landlines or mobiles. Unlike the calling cards where you will be sent the information for the access numbers to select first before entering the number you plan on calling, these services have everything on display within their websites. So you can call who you want when you want by simply selecting the specific access code required.
With services only costing calls as low as 1p from a land line to Australia and cheap calls to Bangladesh costing from just 3p from a land line, it is clear to see why many consider this to be a clear alternative.
If your looking for anything cheaper, then your in luck. With the introduction of VoIP there has been many offerings of free services that enable people to talk online. The most well known being Skype. If both parties have access to an internet connection with a microphone, a camera can also be used. Then by simply creating an account you will be read to talk to anyone in the world regardless of where you are for free.
By using a mixture of the above, you will be able to save yourself a lot of money rather than just using the international calling cards which have been around for many years now.
