Motorists will encounter daytime lane closures this week, Oct. 17-21, on several roads in Montgomery and Bucks counties for construction of the Route 202 Parkway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said recently.

Daytime single-lane patterns will be in place periodically on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Sumneytown Pike and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Upper Gwynedd and Lower Gwynedd townships on Monday through Friday (Oct. 17-21) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility relocations and sound wall construction.

Motorists also may encounter lane closures on Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump Road and Bell Run Boulevard for utility and road construction Monday through Friday (Oct. 17-21) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In New Britain and Montgomery townships, drivers will find single-lane conditions on County Line Road between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Avenue/ Doylestown Road) on Monday through Friday (Oct. 17-21) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage construction and road widening.

In New Britain and Warrington townships, Bucks County, construction will reduce Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) to a single lane Monday through Friday (Oct. 17-21) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Avenue).

Construction to widen two intersections will result in intermittent lane closures on Upper State Road approaching Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) and on Upper State Road approaching Bristol Road on Monday through Friday (Oct. 17-21) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Intermittent lane restrictions also will be in place on Bristol Road at the intersection during those same hours.

In Doylestown Township, Lower State Road will periodically be reduced to a single lane between Wells and Almshouse roads Monday through Friday (Oct. 17-21) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Parkway construction.

Lower State Road remains closed to northbound traffic between Bristol and Almshouse roads for bridge construction.

Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.

PennDOT is investing more than $200 million in state funds to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and to improve roads approaching the Parkway's entrances.
