Two days after rolling past Bucknell 30-6 for its fourth consecutive win, two members of the Lehigh football team, senior quarterback Chris Lum and senior defensive lineman Ben Flizack, were recognized with Patriot League weekly awards.

Lum was also named FCS National Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the Sports Network, while the Mountain Hawks continued to rise in the national polls.

For the sixth time in as many games this season, and the seventh straight game dating back to last year, Lum eclipsed the 300-yard passing mark, completing 81 percent of his passes for 368 yards and four touchdowns.

Less than a week after being added to the watch list for the Walter Payton award, Lum guided the Mountain Hawks on three straight touchdown drives in the second quarter of Saturday's win, plus a drive early in the third quarter that put the game out of reach.

For the season, the Michigan native has completed 68 percent of his passes for 2,177 yards and 23 touchdowns. He has now won four Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week awards this season and six of the last 10 dating to last season.

He shares the Sports Network national honor for the second time this season, this time with UT Martin quarterback Derek Carr.

Sacks were the name of the game for Lehigh against Bucknell as the Mountain Hawks racked up ten against Bison signal-caller Brandon Wesley. Flizack earned the first Patriot League weekly award of his career after leading the Mountain Hawks with six tackles, including two sacks. He also had a pass breakup on the day, as Lehigh yielded just 246 yards of offense to the Bison, most of which came with the game's outcome already decided.

For the season, Flizack leads all Lehigh defensive linemen with 19 tackles and tops the Mountain Hawks with 4.5 sacks and six tackles for loss.

With a pair of top ten teams losing last week, Lehigh rose in both the Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS Top 25 as well as the FCS Coaches Poll. The Mountain Hawks come in at No. 8 in the Sports Network poll, the highest ranking for any Patriot League team since Lehigh was ranked eighth in November of 2004. Lehigh moved up one spot to No. 9 in the coaches' poll.

Elsewhere in collegiate honors:

• Kutztown University junior running back Josh Mastromatto and East Stroudsburg University senior quarterback Ray Wagner have named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division co-Offensive Players of the Week.

Mastromatto totaled 291 all-purpose yards including a school-record 100-yard kickoff return, to help Kutztown (5-1) to a 49-32 victory over East Stroudsburg. He is the 17th player in PSAC history to return a kickoff 100 yards and the first since 2006. His kickoff return came with 1:39 left in the first half after the Warriors had pulled to within eight points.

The junior totaled a career-high in all-purpose yards in the victory, 17 short of the school record set by Elfren Quiles in 2007. He rushed for 96 yards on six carries, including a 50-yard clincher in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. He also hauled in 57 receiving yards.

Wagner threw for 522 yards, the sixth-highest total in PSAC history. He hrew for 330 yards in the first half and became the fourth quarterback in school history and 10th in PSAC history to top the 500-yard mark.

He had 544 of the Warriors' 600 yards of total offense, including five carries for 22 yards and his first career rushing touchdown, to rank fourth in school history and seventh in PSAC history in that category. He was 30-for-50 with two touchdowns.

Wagner earned his second PSAC East Player of the Week award of the season.

• Senior Derek Long and freshman Colin Sulpizio along with junior Justine McNulty each earned Freedom Conference Player of the Week honors for DeSales.

It is the third time this season Long has earned Freedom Conference Player of the Week honors, the first time Sulpizio has earned Freedom Conference GK/D of the Week honors, and the second time McNulty has taken home volleyball Freedom Player of the Week honors.

Long helped the Bulldogs post a 2-0 record in soccer with two goals in the win over Eastern on Saturday. He scored the first and third goals for the Bulldogs and now has 11 tallies on the season to lead the team with 23 total points. His 11 goals give him 44 in his career, moving him into fourth place all-time for DeSales.

Sulpizio made 10 saves and allowed just one goal for the soccer team, making nine saves to preserve a 3-1 win over Eastern (with the only goal allowed coming on a penalty kick). He recorded a 0.59 GAA and a .909 save percentage.
