GMP: Water stabilized at Marshfield Dam - WCAX

Burlington, Vermont - August 29, 2011

Green Mountain power officials say the water level at the Marshfield Dam appears to be stable for now.

At the peak of flooding Sunday night, GMP evacuated downstream residents and was preparing to possibly release water from the dam to alleviate pressure.  GMP on Monday said the water level stabilized and they did not have to take the emergency action of releasing overflow waters. Residents who were evacuated are now free to return home.

Keagan Harsha spoke with GMP's Dotty Schnure about power outages and the dam.
