Police say a runaway car struck a bus bench in Miami Beach, injuring four people. The driver fled the scene.

The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. Monday. Miami Beach police spokesman Juan Sanchez says the female driver sped off after hitting the victims.

The Miami Herald ( http://bit.ly/pFTp8L) reports police tracked the vehicle to an address in North Bay Village and the suspect was stopped at a nearby gas station.

Police say the woman was taken into custody Tuesday night. Her name has not been released.

Three victims were taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center. Another was taken to Jackson Memorial's Ryder Trauma Center. Their conditions were not immediately available.

Officials say no charges have been filed. Police are continuing to investigate why the driver lost control of her vehicle.
